I saw the indicator for a new announcement this morning, and I opened it.
Read the announcement, closed the tab, and the indicator was gone from my avatar, as expected.
Some time later, I reloaded the app webpage, and the indicator was back. This has happened 3 or 4 times now. Why won’t the announcement stay “read?” I cleared the browser cache a couple of times, but it just happened again.
I can only guess that it might be staying as a “new” announcement until all sessions are online (which is scheduled for Friday)

Yup… came for the same question.
Not a big deal, just a bit annoying having a read\unread indicator not stay read.
Came in just to post the same thing. This is causing real issues with my OCD. I hope they fix that. 
It’s a bad decision IMO to leave a read announcement unread including an intrusive yellow notification front and central in the top bar of both the web and desktop clients.
