Annoying Plexamp CarPlay bug

I mentioned this a couple years ago, but it’s still bugging me:

If I’m running Plexamp on my iPhone via CarPlay and the cell connection drops (such as driving through the mountains or into underground parking) then without me taking any action at all suddenly I see a “Downloads” screen.

This is super annoying and usurps user control. It is also dangerous, because now I have to take my eyes off the road to navigate back to the Now Playing screen.

There is no good reason to do this since it buffers several songs anyway. If I lose cell service for 5 minutes, who cares? The music always keeps playing anyway.

No other iOS CarPlay app does this! Not Apple Music, not Spotify, not Tidal…

Please for the love of god remove this behavior or make it a toggle in the settings. I can’t imagine anyone actually wants Plexamp to automatically navigate away from Now Playing just because of a temporary network blip.

To be clear, we did it this way because the Apple guidelines (at the time, at least) specified that was the correct behavior. When losing connectivity, you were supposed to display only available items.

I’ve gone back and looked at the guidelines and I can’t find a reference to this anymore, so I’ll just take it out for the next release.
