If I move a cancelled tv series from one library to another Plex remembers the watched status when scanning but it ALWAYS also puts it in recently added.
Is there a way of moving programs where this doesn’t happen.

Well you are removing files from one library and adding to another one that’s why they pop in recently added.
A work around would be to not include library with canceled shows in dashboard.
I run into the same issue as I have an ongoing and a cancelled tv shows library. The problem when not including the cancelled library in the dashboard is that it also stops the shows from showing up in On Deck. Even though the shows are cancelled, I’m still watching them. What would be good is a more granular approach (do NOT show in recently added but show in On Deck for example)
WilhelmStroker’s suggestion seems to be the best way out of this.
Any comments from the dev’s would be welcome.

Don’t hold your breath, they usually don’t. If they do they don’t say anything about timelines for fixes or even if it is on the radar.
Pro-tip: descriptive subject lines on posts get you more eyeballs.

If you have access to a Windows machine you could use MovieFan’s Database Tool for Plex
Change added date to aired date. This will allow recently added to sort by recently aired. Good for when you add old shows and do not want it to show in recently added.
hthighway
I’ll give this a try when I get a vm sorted out.
