Moving old media to a different location re-ads it to the "recently added" list. How do I stop that?

Server Version#: 4.76.1

In case the title is confusing. Over time my media library has outgrown my hardware. So I like to consolidate and move items across drives. However, say I have a movie or TV show on Drive “A”, but then I move it over to Drive “B”. The media watch status stays the same, but the show is re-added to the “Recently added list”. I’ve tried doing just a copy, then once both locations are recognized I remove the original location. Once the original location is gone Plex re-put’s it back into the “recently added list”.

Is there a way to stop that from happening? Since the watch status is remembered, one would think that the server would recognize that this isn’t “new” media.

  • Edit library, and make sure both old folder and new folder are added to the library
  • Disable empty trash after scanning
