Another "Display Folders" question

I’ve done some searching and don’t think this is possible but, wanted to confirm -

I have a library of plays where most plays are two files (Act 1 and Act 2).

In Plex, these display as “Play - Act 1” and “Play - Act 2”.

Is there a way to have the Play name displayed on a folder with the two respective files within it?

I know I can change the view from “movie” to “folder” but, this only changes the view for my specific account on that particular client. I’d like to “force” this view to everyone I share the library with.

Also - with the “folder” view, the image becomes a folder instead of the artwork I have associated with the videos.

Am I correct that everything I’ve described above is the only way Plex works, or am I missing a way to accomplish what I’d like to do?

Thanks!

My suggestion would be to create a collection for each play consisting of all the individual acts for it. You can then configure the library’s advanced “Collections” setting to “Hide items which are in collections” so that the individual acts are hidden and only their collections are shown.

So, the user will see a single collection for each play; then, upon selecting it, the acts for that play will be shown.

Here’s some information describing how manual collections are created:

Thanks so much… that worked perfectly!!
