I’ve done some searches this morning, but the topics I found didn’t have any resolution, and were just automatically closed after X days…
Plex should observe the “Low Data Mode” setting on iOS’s wifi settings, so that it does not attempt to download media over those connections. I realize there is an option to disable syncing over cell network, but that does not help when connecting to wifi networks that may be cell-backed, or just super slow wifi that has no business trying to sync gigabytes of media.
Short explanation with 2 examples:
- If I have a hotspot that my iPad is connected to, I don’t want to use up the entire data plan because Plex decided it needed to sync.
- If I’m on a slow network, and I have labelled it as Low Data Mode, it would be nice to not have Plex trying to spend hours or days trying its hardest to download that media, when I know it will never be able to finish (i.e. at a campground with overburdened wifi / net connection)
