Any way to set the colon symbol : in extra's title?

Currently the movie itself can be renamed and matched, but there’s no way to change extra’s title. I understand that would be a feature request, but is there any other way to set the colon symbol in extras? Filenames doesn’t support “:”

This is unfortunately not possible.

There’s actually an existing feature suggestion, discussing an option to edit metadata for local extras.

subject to what file system you’re using

Thanks, I voted for the feature suggestion, and I’ll try linux then.

Actually I just tried renaming using command line, but plex failed to read it as a colon, but instead like this. This is the case for the “/” character too. I tried adding escaping symbol "" but didn’t change anything.

I’ve seen results like this if you’re making the file name changes on some weird file transfer protocol setup; not necessarily a specific bug but mix of client/host OS and SMB). Do you get the same result if you change the extra‘s filename from within the server OS/system (e.g. via SSH)?

You are right, Synology DSM doesn’t allow even using “/” in the file name even from command line. I will hope for the feature suggestion to be adopted… one day…

A slash is used to separate folder names and file names in a “path” on Linux.
So it is very much not allowed in a regular file name.
