Anyone else having trouble with their HD Homerun CONNECT DUO device?

I’ve not been able to get streams to work into Plex since a few days ago. The HD Homerun App in Android works great, and I can see all of the channels and so forth, it’s just that I cannot get the playback to work and see an error “Playback Error” This live TV session has ended.

Server Version#: 1.40.5.8921-836b34c27
Player Version#: 4.133.0
Tuner Make/Model: HD Homerun CONNECT DUO HDHR5-2US
Guide/Lineup name:
Using XMLTV?:
Channel number/Name:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

I have Plex v1.41.0.8976 and a HDHR4-2DT which are working. Not the same model or version but I guess it’s a data point.

Mine quit working too, HDHomeRun log says the stream to the Plex server ended but that is the only details I can find. Plex just says it couldn’t start the stream, I’ve done everything I can think of with the Plex Server, next step is to restart HDHomeRun appliance and hope that helps. Nothing changed with HDHomeRun and it works fine from Roku or iPhone using their apps, so confused what changed since I last used it a few months ago.

Rolling back to 1.40 worked on restoring functionality

Mine is a HDHomerun Quatro, but same issue. It was working fine up until the most recent update. Now it just says “Device not found. Ensure your device is powered on and connected to your network.”
When I use the HDHomeRun app on my phone or TV box everything loads as expected, but nothing loads in the Plex app itself. Likewise the server can’t automatically find the Quatro if I try to add it as a new device.

HDHR4 here. Same issues, deleted and re added dvr. Restarted server, restarted HDHR4 unit.

No live TV streams will load at all on latest update of plex media server on Windows 10.

Seems to be locking out the tuners if you try to stream a channel which is also causing PMS to be unresponsive to other requests such as trying to stream a locally stored movie.

Hope someone at plex sees this…

Same issue here, “Playback Error: This live TV session has ended.” Can no longer get live tv to stream in Plex app on:

  • LG tv 13.40.75
  • Roku 13.1.4 build 1510-E6
  • Plex Web: Chrome 129.0.6668.59
  • Plex Web: Firefox 130.0.1

Works:

  • Plex app on iOS 18.1
  • Using HD Homerun app
  • Tuner is also recognized by LG tv as a source / input and will play channels

Server Version#: 1.41.0.8992
Player Version#: 4.138.0
Tuner M/M: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K
OS: Windows 10
Version: 22H2
OS Build: 19045.4894

Latest stable server update v.1.41.0.8994 has not fixed the issue. Granted I didn’t see anything in the patch notes about it, but figured I mentioned it here.

All current firmware, software and server.

Same issue. It seems that I updated Plex Server a several weeks ago and was planning on watching my recordings… the circle just spins at 33%!!! Forever…
It used to work perfectly. I played the recorded “ts” files using VLC so it’s not the files. I removed the device from Plex then reinstalled and got the same result. By the way, HDHOMERUN on my Roku plays all the channels, so it’s not the HD Homerun that’s bricked.
Please Fix, thanks.

Anyone gotten any word from Plex or seen an official update of some kind? I’m sure the OTA boxes are low usage compared to their other features, but I’d like to at least know they’re aware of it.

I originally posted in this thread about live tv not streaming. Found the answer, for my issue, in a different thread. Thread below.

There are 2 builds listed by chris_decker08, 1.41.2.9044 and 9055.

I tested both in my environment and then made sure the version update feature was turned off for the “current” version.

Hope this helps someone…

Cheers,
Jay

I appreciate the update. Sadly for me it doesn’t help since I’m running a Linux servers and those are Windows executables. Thanks for pointing us to the thread though

1.41.1.9057 fixed my issue on my Ubuntu Linux server. Thank you!
