Just curious if anyone is using this. I’m thinking for my purposes, this is probably perfectly fine for producing direct play’able files. However, with previous releases I believe there were issues with the transcode borking the recordings, causing skips and image corruption. Just wondering if those issues have been resolved with the latest.
It could depend on your location, signal, and what’s in the broadcast data. Try it and see how you go
It’s pretty taxing on the server which may be causing your issue. My hex core machine was showing 12% utilization. I’m more curious why my shield works fine but Nexus player will play zero live TV as it errors out.
I’m running a quad core IvyBridge Core i5 and right now it’s recording HD TV at about 5% utilization per core. So as it seems, not too taxing at all. So I guess we’ll find out whether this has any negative effects on the actual recording.
NM… About 40-50% utilization per core. Was reading that wrong before. Hmm… I wonder how it will look when I have two recordings at once.
…reporting back in after two simultaneous HD recordings. One recording says it was successful, but has disappeared completely. I suppose I’ll switch off the feature for now. Too risky to lose recordings.
I ran into the same issue. I’m starting to think that it’s too taxing on smaller setups. Missed recordings, stutter on playing items while recording (even while direct playing)
