App.plex.tv is unable to connect to "SHIELD Android TV" securely

I cannot get Plex Webb App to connect to my Plex server on my Nvidia Shield. I have the most recent Nvidia Shield Experience Upgrade 8.2.3. Both Plex apps are up to date. I have a Seagate as my external hard drive. The setup was successful but I can not connect to the server via the Plex Webb App. I follow the steps in this video How To Setup A Plex Server On Nvidia Shield Pro - YouTube

What am I missing?

Same setup same problem
Everything was working perfectly till last couple of days
It went offline and never came back again whatever i do

what version of the server is on your shields. have you rebooted them recently? can you access via localIp:32400/web ?

The version of the server is 1.24.4.5081 (smb). I am sorry but I am kind of a novice and am not sure what localIp:32400/web is. I think that is the Plex Web App. I can log into my account but the web app never connects to the server. I keep receiving this error message “Its “Secure connections” setting may be set to disabled, or you may need to adjust some settings on your network. You can learn more about secure connections here.” The resource that is provided does not seem to be helpful.

It is the web app but they it is a different version than what loads from https://app.plex.tv. which requires secure connections to be enabled on server to connect to the server. This is often called the “hosted” app because it initially loads from our hosting servers into your browser.

IP:32400/web is referencing what is often called the “local” web app as it loads locally from the server install and does not require secure connections.

You need to know the Local Area Network (LAN) IP address of your Shield. You can find this by going to the settings of the Shield itself and going to Network & Internet settings. In that group of settings you should see a Connected section that lists its IP address. It is likely something like 192.168.1.5. Once you have that you should be able to use http://LocalIP:32400/web in your web browser (replacing LocalIP with the actual IP if your Shield) to use the local web app.

Accessing it via `https://LocalIP:32400/web got me connected to the server. The remote access is showing as “Not available outside your network”. The setting is enabled. Is there some setting in the Shield that needs to be turned on?

The secure connections setting is set to preferred? Have you tried rebooting the shield?

Ok. The secure connections setting in the Plex web app is set to preferred. The Shield in the Plex settings in Advanced is set to Allow Insecure connections Always. It seems to be working now. Are these settings correct?

If you set the shield player to always accept insecure connections then just be ware that the traffic is not encrypted between player and server. But if this is a local connection between the two encryption doesn’t really matter since it never leaves your network anyway. That setting to always allow does not affect the https://app.plex.tv site though

Ok. I was not able to get Remote Access working without changing the Allow Insecure Connections to Always. For security wise when assessing it in a different state it is best to have it set to never correct? If so, how do I get that to work? I just set the Shield in Plex settings to Allow Insecure connections to Never and I lost remote access. Secure Connections is still set to Preferred.
