App shows as offline right after booting since last update

Hello,

My android tv has Plex 8.18.0.25636 installed.

Since I got that update which changed a bit the interface after booting my android tv I have to Force Stop Plex for it to connect.

I used to have this issue on the old app if I started Plex too quickly after booting if the wifi hadn’t had the time to connect but now I can wait for long time after the wifi is connected and it never works

I have a very stable fiber internet on which I can stream 4k without any compression and I have no issues on the Osx version of Plex only on this Android Tv version.

It’s quite frustrating and I’m thinking of downgrading the app.

Still seeing the same issue on the latest update. It’s really frustrating.

Here are the logs attached:

I’m looking into your issue. From what I can tell from your log, the app is losing it’s DNS information, so when it tried to contact any website such as plex.tv, it is failing. I think I see where you force stopped the app and things started working again. I’ll need to check with the devs to see what could cause the DNS to get messed up like that.

Ok, I do have Unbound Dns running on a Pi that I use as my main dns provider on my modem.

But as the app manages to get the dns after being forced killed it shouldn’t be an issue right?

It might be. Try removing that temporarily and see if you have the same issues.

I don’t quite get why Plex can’t handle it in the first place when no other app breaks but changing the DNS did fix the startup issue thanks.
