App wants to be logged in?

I never noticed the change but used to be that an app like the AppleTV app would just pick up a Plex Media Server running on the same subnet, or I could just add it via IP or hostname.

Am I right in concluding that apps such as the AppleTV app now require the app to be logged in using my Plex account that’s linked to the Plex Media Server?

Does that mean streaming from a server to an app on the same subnet actually goes via the remote access?

One the same network? Cmon don’t try and tell me it’s a security feature.

The app has a Skip Sign in option so not really sure what you mean. If you server is claimed and signed then it cannot be accessed without auth unless you entire local IP’s that are allowed to do so in the server’s network settings
