My Samsung tv still works but IPhone and Apple TV does not
update your Plex Media Server – should work fine with the latest public release (version 1.19.3).
you might need to reboot your server after updating it for Plex on the Apple TV / iOS to pick it up again.
When I go to settings-Server-General ‘check for updates’ is dithered out.
Then you can update it manually:
- download the latest installer from the plex.tv download page
http://plex.tv/media-server-downloads/ - run the installer
- reboot your server
I’ve updated my PMS on the NAS to the latest version, however on the Apple TV app, it still only shows ‘On Plex’ sources on my home screen and not any of my NAS sources. They also don’t come up in the search.
The only way I can find my own media is if I go to ‘More’ and then my server shows up. But none of my individual shares are displayed, just ‘recently added’, so if I want to find anything other than what I’ve just added recently, I appear to be out of luck…
It seems you haven’t updated / used Plex on your Apple TV for quite some time…
Plex introduced a more flexible / customizable navigation for its clients – the Apple apps were updated sometime in April 2019.
The navigation will default to show libraries you have pinned (e.g. if you don’t want music libraries to show on your big-screen tv or if you don’t want your private home videos of kids and family to show on your mobile).
You can…
- manually pin the libraries you like from within the
Moresection - reset customizations on the app’s home screen to pick your preferred server and libraries in a single step
