Apple Remote with High Sierra not working

This is ridiculous that High Sierra has been out for almost 6 months now and this issue still hasn’t been addressed. As a Plex Pass subscriber, this sucks. Anyone from the Plex team care to comment on when this might possibly be fixed?

Completely agree that this sucks. I keep checking these forums regularly for months now and nothing has changed. Is there no other way to raise issues with the Plex team apart from posting in these forums?

Can someone from the Plex team please let us know what’s happening with this?

Maybe they’re too busy hanging out in a VR viewing party. Sheesh…

Agreed, getting tired of using plex via kodi… Want to use the system as intended. updated to v2.3.0 Beta but no up/down on the apple IR remote (macOS high sierra).

Not that this will help, I’m afraid, but @elan advised me on Jan 25th … “The team doesn’t have anything new to report. They’ll attempt to look into it again in the near future.”

Incredibly frustrating that this has not formed part of recent bug fixes; makes me think most are not using a MacMini with Plex like us

This means they won’t bother at all. Hope Open PHT gets updated soon so I can abandon Plex for good.

Anyone from the Plex team care to chime in?

Come on Plex Team… This is way to long… give us an update for some hope.

Agreed, this sucks. The whole reason I got Plex was so I could use my Mac mini like an Apple TV. If I have to use my mouse to interface it defeats the whole purpose making plex a totally useless piece of software.

Also seems obvious that Plex customer service blows as there is no response from them here. Not planning on upgrading to premium any time soon.

So disappointing.

There’s a long list of nonsensical new ‘features’ but basic issues like this go unresolved.

Anyone else remember when the objective of Plex was to do an OS X optimized fork of XBMC?

Plex Media Player v2.5.0 supposedly fixes it.

Wiidesire: thank you for posting the link. Glad to see this fixed.

Thanks Plex and @Wiidesire

And what about Plex Home Theater? Is this solution only for Plex Media Player?
I really prefer PHT. PMP looks like a “web-browser version turned into an app”…

Plex Home Theater is dead. No more devolpment there from the Plex team. There is OpenPHT which is a communtiy driven fork. But the fix is not implemented there yet. And it seems that the development of OpenPHT has at least stalled for the time being.

Just an update:
I got it working by using Candelair v 1.28.
Now all the buttons on the IR are working.

10.13.4 has broken the latest PMP again :frowning:

Update: enabling Candelair driver fixed the problem

Will try the driver fix myself thank you
