Setup
- Plex App – most recent version 8.12.1 (1) – on Apple TV 4K (1st Gen. – Model ID AppleTV6,2) running tvOS 16.1
- Plex Server v1.30.0.6406 on TrueNAS-13.0-U3.1
Problem
When Apple TV 4K is turned on/powered and Plex app had been previously launched (being still open in background), the login spinner spins infinitely after selecting the user and – if required – entering the PIN. It makes no difference whether one clicks on the Plex App icon or clicks a media poster from the previously watched Plex items above on Apple TV’s stage.
Workaround
One always has to quit Plex app first (swipe up motion in App switcher) and relaunch it. After relaunch, the problem is gone, user login works smoothly and instantly.
This problem has been around for approx. at least half a year and obviously so far not been fixed. Deinstalling and reinstalling the Plex App on the Apple TV did not change the misbehaviour.
Any ideas how to fix that? Is this a server-sided setting which needs to be changed?
