Infuse will probably have a revamped and superior UI by the time Plex gets this fixed. ![]()
Yeah this is actually key.
For anyone reading this, Infuse require yearly (or Lifetime) subs to access their TestFlight releases.
Monthly doesnāt cut it.
Yeah, Iām hoping plex can fix their ATV client before I can get my ROI on a lifetime Infuse license, lol.
I dont know when the delay option got added to the the drop down during playback!
I was always looking for it in apps main settings, somewhere alongside choosing new player vs old.
NOW that ive found it, by swiping down during playback!, and using the other beeping av alignment test videos. 325ms delay seems to resolve.
Appletv 4k 2022 ethernet > denon (passthrough no video transcode) > samsung s95b in filmmaker.
āGoing forward there will be better search and sort and filters and tighter integration overall.ā
Thatās great, what have you heard specifically?
So I first replied to this thread in December 2022. I had bought the lifetime Plex pass, and then my Apple TV started seeing the issue between the audio and the video. No real progress has been made on this issue to date. No reply to my request for a refund on the lifetime Plex pass, and no substantial progress made addressing the issue.
I will suggest again that anyone and everyone having this issue with their Apple TVs go out to the Apple App Store and leave a 1-star review, calling out this specific issue and the lack of progress from the Plex development staff. Everyone needs to do this in order to impact their ratings in the App Store and to warn others off of this ānot ready for prime timeā application. Otherwise all the whining and bitc**** on this forum has yielded nothing. Impact their revenue, thatās the best we can do at this time apparently.
When Infuse released back in the day, the UI was pretty cutting edge and looked awesome. Itās really stagnated though over the years. If Infuse were to spend some time on updating the UI to something like parity with Plex, then most folks would jump ship entirely.
At the end of the day, a pretty interface is useless if it canāt actually play your media properly.
The alphabetical jump list is finally marked as in progress for starters. As is the scenario of watching an episode from continue watching not allowing you to navigate to that shows seasons or home page.
But more generally James is actively asking for input on what we users actually use most when navigating our media.
Meanwhile the feature is only in pre-alpha but already my library updates in real time. No more waiting for everything to sync down from Plex. I have a setup that sends me discord notification when I add new media to Plex. If I sit on the home page of infuse it updates with the new files even before discord has managed to ping me.
Bottom line though even with the hot mess with navigation that Infuse currently isā¦everything just plays as it should. For me, playback will always trump aesthetics.
Having great filtering/sort in Plex hardly matters if the media doesnāt play when you get there.
Personally Iām gonna push for the watchlist feature in Plex to be available in Infuse. If even after the changes Infuse navigation is less optimal than Plex, I will have no issues is browsing Plex occasionally and adding it to my Plex watchlist and seeing it upfront in Infuse.
Exactly that.
You got there first whilst I typed my sprawling reply.

Yeah, I am digging Infuse, it plays back everything with aplomb, no audio sync issues at all. So I will keep using it. I do wish the UI was a slick as Plexās. But for now, I am happy that my content all plays just fine.
Yeah Iām heavily invested in Apple devices lately.
I have HomePods and AirPods.
If the only issue was the audiosync in Plex I could probably live with it and wait for it to be fixed or mess with the audio offsets.
But for my particular setup the audio sync issues are not even close to being at the top of whatās not working.
Then of course Plex insistence on forcing fake Dolby Vision down our throats. Donāt get me started on that one.
Donāt forget everyone at Plex gets personally offended when you ask for proper communication and then ban/silence paying users who ask for proper updates.
Best company 11/10.
Be careful, I was banned for one month for being āToo combativeā.
Best response from billing.
I am not part of the technical team, so I cannot completely speak to the issue being summarized there, but at a glance, in the post your shared, it identifies that the core of the issue is that this is strictly an issue with how Apple themselves allow bitstream/passthrough for streaming. When I quickly did a search of the Apple forums, this same question is being asked of them and why they havenāt addressed it for the likes of Plex/Kodi/Emby/etc
*.
Internal communication 11/10.
Iām not surprised. We spent the best part of 2 years trying to get them to even understand what the problem was ![]()
Honestly I personally have no issue with having bought a lifetime PlexPass. Over the last 10 years or so I have had my moneys worth.
But Infuse are finally planning user profiles. I only share with my housemate and will probably switch her over to Infuse at that point (and run Infuse natively for both of us.)
Where did you hear that? Infuse used to have a roadmap, but that seemed to stop being updated quite some time ago.
Was that to me regarding user profiles @psykix ? Itās not planned for this year but more likely in Infuse 8
Their roadmap is still updated weekly at a minimum though.
Hey look itās proper communication
It was, but sometimes when pressing reply it doesnāt always show who the reply is to!
