This thread seems to have gotten away from the original topic but I did notice that with one of the more recent updates, while playing a video if you go to Playback Settings and scroll down there is now a setting to adjust the audio delay. That has addressed the issue for me.
Old news.
+225-250ms has been the average adjustment needed for systems with little no default lag.
What button on the Apple TV remote do you press to get to these settings? When I hit pause, I donāt get any popup playback settings and when I go to playback settings before starting the episode, all I see is subtitles. I must be missing something silly.
Swipe down.
ah, thanks!
Just wondering for those that are running into this problem - do you all have external sound systems? I havenāt hit this issue yet - although I just got my Apple TV last week. That being said, I also donāt have any kind of external audio system so am just using whatās built into my TVā¦
Yes, 225 - 250ms seems to be the correct setting to correct the sync issue.
And, yes this issue seems to be exclusive to setups where the ATV is connected to an A/V Receiver with external sound and the A/V Receiver is connected to the TV through an eARC HDMI port.
No it is not. Plenty of examples of people complaining simple setups, like Apple TV directly connected to a TV.
I myself have 2 Apple TVs 4k (different generations), connected directly to TVs, with both having the issue.
I do find that not everyone in sensible to this issue, as it happens for instance with matching frame rate. Many people say things are fine because they do not detect the issues (my wife for example).
For me, adjusting around 200ms in both AppleTVs (one time only) āfixedā the audio sync issue - I was fortunate one of the first batch of users that was awarded with this tool to adjust the audio delay, and from time on, I was able to use Plex
Jozef_Halder,
Do you have HomePods? (I have HomePod minis, for which there is not a Dolby audio choice.)
I have Apple 4k (gen 3) and have this issue.
Same issue whether connected direct to TV or via sound system. It doesnāt get better or worse whether connected direct or not - itās Plex client that is the issue.
Still experiencing this with LG G2 OLED, B&O Beosound Stage sound bar and Apple TV 4K (A2843). Also tried on tvOS 17 beta.
Iāve been resisting for a while and been using Infuse, but just yesterday I tested out the new audio offset feature in Plex. I set it to +175ms per suggestions from others here and it worked. Everything is in sync again. And it looks like I donāt have to set it every time. It would be nice if they just fixed the issue, but at least now, Plex is back to normal for me. Iām going to keep my Infuse subscription active, its only .99cent a month and its a small token to the devs who made such a great product and are very responsive to their customers.
I canāt believe after 3 years this issue hasnāt been solved! I found this thread after search looking for a solution to audio sync issues with my 4K Apple TV. As other have said, infuse plays back with no issues
Did I miss something or did you mean you canāt believe it HASNāT been solved?
I actually got excited when I read your post.![]()
Why on earth do we get a new release today with sidebar performance improvements? I mean they are working on stuff like that when thereās bigger fish to fry?!
To be fair there has been a ton of posts regarding the sidebar resetting for many users.
Hereās one such thread.
The wording could have been better though.
Calling it a āfix forā would have been far better. At least then even those unaffected could have celebrated that something got fixed for someone. ![]()
Fair enough! Itās not something Iād noticed so not sure what triggered that issue!
The sidebar setup was kept in purgeable storage, so if the device ran low on space, it would purge that, and the settings were lost.
Ah⦠my main driver is a 128GB ATV4K, with very few apps installed so less likely to be affected.
Ah thanks infuse LOL
