To hear that they haven’t been working on it after all this time and everything that has been thread in this thread is very disappointing. On the bright side, he is committing to working on it I guess…
@chrisallen could we maybe get a bit more detail on “when we next review that roadmap”? I’m sure you can appreciate that we’ve had 4 years of vague comments and borderline gaslighting on this issue, so it would be good to know exactly what that means. In the next 3 months? 6 months? 12 months?
I have simply turned on the old video player and old audio in Plex on my AppleTV with my HomePod mini’s as stereo sound, and all of my problems have gone away. Stuff plays right, looks right, sounds right, no sync issues. I know it’s far from ideal, but I guess that’s just the course I’ll hang out in for awhile…
You presumably don’t care about DV then because the old player doesn’t support it. The new one isn’t exactly great since it uses fake DV but it’s better than nothing.
Had given up on this thread and Plex on Apple TV tbh. GLOL that after all this time they finally tell the truth that everyone already knew anyway! I guess it is some sort of progress. Still totally dreadful customer service that they weren’t forthcoming YEARS ago!
Ugh, I’ve had old player turned on for YEARS due to this issue, somehow the new player got turned on (wasn’t me). For months I was slightly aggravated and just went to Infuse since Plex movies played like crap with audio sync issues. Finally got around to googling it tonight and came across this thread, then turning on the old player fixed the issue. What are the plex employees doing? Like, why can’t Plex simply license the Infuse video engine and incorporate that? It’s sooo much better in many ways, especially subtitles. Very aggrevating. Do better Plex!!
Can we even access our Watch List in Infuse? Just curious… I used it for a year a couple years ago and it was so limited compared to Plex… Maybe it’s gotten way closer to the plex experience aside from just playing media better?
Infuse however have just implemented what they call server direct mode in beta . Jellyfin & Emby last week and Plex a couple of days ago.
Watchlists are a highly requested feature.
Yet another person who’s been waiting for years for this to get fixed. For me anything 4K gets out of sync audio-wise, and even switching to the old player doesn’t solve the problem. (1080p and lower stuff seems fine to me, though its possible its off by just a little and I’m not noticing it). Infuse however plays everything perfectly. PLEASE work on this! It’s been more than long enough, and 4K content is only becoming more and more common.
So as far as I’m concerned, I don’t think Plex give a flying … about Infuse. But I would suggest most Plex Subscribers care about, is that their Plex setup just worked as intended.
