Apple TV 4K Plex 8.22 tvOS 16.6 playing back 4K movie sound stops playing after a few minutes

I am really very tired of this Plex application on AppleTV which does not correct this problem over time.
It becomes very heavy to have paid €90 for a lifetime license only to have to constantly switch to this “old player” setting depending on the film you want to watch.

I’ve uploaded the logs, what more do you need to correct the problem?

It also happens here:

Logs won’t help unfortunately and plenty have already been submitted.
Plex staff are fully aware and they have been for several months. Unfortunately not a single one of them owns any AirPlay devices.

This is one of several major playback issues on Apple Devices.
Last I knew they were still trying to hire a playback engineer who has a clue about Apple devices. They made the last one redundant. He wasn’t a specialist in Apple devices but he did actually seem to give a ■■■■.

Expect a fix for this, the stutter issues, lipsync issues and broken spatial audio issues around 2025 (optimistically.)

A Plex “Team Member” …(no idea if that’s a paid Plex Employee or simply a high ranked unpaid Ninja) …when someone mentioned that Infuse has none of the above problems, chimed in that the cost of everything that Plex can do compared with the cost of Infuse is an unfair comparison to make.
So seemingly suggesting we are being unrealistic expecting playback to work on an Apple device. I personally asked if what he typed and the way I inferred it was different and he wasn’t seen in the thread again.
Last few posts here.

You can however try selecting to use the old audio engine in Plex settings on your Apple TV.

I had to use a translate app but yes. Everything you said is correct.

While the HomePod costs €349, you should know that the problem also exists with the HomePod mini at only €109. If a company like Plex is not able to invest €109 to try to understand the problem in depth for more than 8 months… Customers must wait 3 years for a possible correction!? well done mentality… In 3 years our devices will be obsolete! This is the kind of response that will make users switch to Infuse.

Indeed. One Plex employee was given the go ahead and was then promptly laid off.

Yep. Not the prettiest but stuff actually plays.
