I recently got a HomePod and use it to airplay all the audio from my Apple TV 4K. I noticed that any DVR recorded shows will not use the HomePod as the audio sorce unless I convert the audio and plays the audio through the tv but the remote and Apple TV still thinks it’s playing through the airplay device. So I would like to turn the airplay off (or even on) but can’t since it’s not in your top pull down menu like it is on other applications eg (Netflix, Hulu, amazon prime, all cable and network apps) can you please use the AppleTv standard top menu or find a way to add the audio airplay in?
Totally agree. I keep having the same issue with almost every video. Having the option to choose an audio output from within the app would be huge.
Have been asking for this feature for several months, no response yet. It was available in the older version.
Sounds like you’re using the enhanced player which is still a work in progress. It can be disabled in the app settings.
