I have decided to change infuse for Plex by installing it on a VPS. All I have are Apple devices, the main one an Apple TV. I want direct play so as not to lose quality and because the VPS processor is not powerful enough to transcode.
The thing is that in all the devices it tells me that the bandwidth is not enough because I only have 3000kbs despite having 1Gb connection. On the other hand in the Plex web version or in Plex on my smart tv connected by wifi with half the speed or less it goes perfect.
It is as if the versions of Plex for Apple or the devices artificially limit the bandwidth. Has it happened to any of you or can you think of a solution?
In the Plex app settings, you can change the streaming quality to Max to eliminate the restriction. I think probably due to the fact that you run your Plex server in VPS, the client thinks it is doing a remote streaming (which defaults to 2 or 3 mbps 720p) instead of home streaming which defaults to maximum bandwidth.
