Apple TV 'New Player' Frame Loss/Drops

Is anyone addressing the frame drops with the new player on TvOS? It has been several years since the question was raised. Playback drops frames, showing noticeable skips/jumps.

If I turn off the new player, and use the old, standard MP4 the playback is flawless, aside from I cannot view HDR or BT.709 content. It would be nice to rely on the New Player instead of having to switch settings based on the content I am playing.

Please advise.
