Running server 1.290.6244 and Apple TV 4k version 8.9
I have movies stored on the server, and when I play them on Apple TV, instead of the requested movie playing, I get the trailer from some other random movie in my library. When I try this in the web interface, or in the IOS app, the correct movie plays.
This problem has existed for several weeks. I did not report it, because I thought later versions will fix it. There was a recent update to the Apple TV app, but the problem still exists.
Do you want a trailer to play on the Apple TV?
If so which one?
If not you can disable Trailers in Plex Settings on the ATV.
Do I understand what you’re trying to achieve?
Excellent thank you for clarifying, and minus points for me not seeing your status, huh
You’ve definitely described what sounds like a thing. May I get some more information while I try to reproduce this?
Is your ATV4K a Gen 2 which is the current model?
Would you confirm on your ATV4k in the Plex App Settings:
Cinema Trailers set None
Use Old Video Player set No
Verbose Logging set Off
And confirm using the hosted web app that your Settings → Extras has unchecked
It looks like it was fixed by the settings you provided.
I am able to stop the behavior by either of two ways:
Change “Cinema Trailers” in the ATV app to none.
Unckeck “Include Cinema Trailers from movies in my library” from the web app
When the trailers were playing instead of the movie, I now find out that if I let the trailer finish playing, the movie will start next. That is certainly not the behavior I want. I prefer when Plex plays what I tell it to do, and not be forced to watch something like when at a movie theatre.
I appreciate you help in getting this matter resolved.
