If I try to watch ANY show or movie on mobile (iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS 15.6) it randomly selects another show or movie and begins playing it. As a workaround I’ve been downloading the shows and films and that is a temporary band-aid. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry… I cannot reproduce this on my setup.
The GIF is a bit “quick”… could you list how you’re accessing that video (e.g. through a hub / library page / …) and if this happens with local or video-on-demand content (though I guess it’s local content as you cannot download the online content)?
It could be simply a trailer.
The playback durationof just 1:25 min which appears in the GIF confirms this suspicion.
Go into the preferences of the iOS Plex app and set the number of trailers to zero.
I go to the media page for the selected media in my library and click play. TIA
Thanks for your reply. Its local media that I am trying to play. If you look closely its actually 1:25:36 for the selected media. Then it automatically changes over to a trailer that is 1:25. I did not select the trailer. Nor is that media item (Frosty Returns) near The Swan Princess.
That’s a feature of Plex.
You can configure configure on a server if cinema trailers should be enabled and you can “opt-in” on every client, configuring if and how many trailers you want to see.

To disable the playback of any trailers before a main feature on iOS, check out Settings > Experience > Cinema Trailers and set it to 0 / None.
