<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>
During playback of any season of any show, including any format, when you select Play, Enter or Select on the Apple TV Siri Remote or even through Apple Remote on iPhone or HomeKit, Plex will begin the next episode for approximately 10-20 seconds and immediately start the next episode in the sequence. It doesn’t matter if the episodes are marked as watched or not either.
I have tested this many times and happens every time. If I click Menu on the Siri Remote 1 minute before the episode ends and click Play on the next episode it plays and proceeds normally. If I let the 15 second timer complete it also plays and proceeds normally.
Has anyone else reported this issue? Is there a fix?
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help is appreciated.
I haven’t experienced that on my own Apple TV… maybe you can share some client logs from when you experience this and mention the show where this last happened.
It does it on every show. No matter encoding or seasons or episodes. It does it on multiple Apple TV 4Ks.
What I have not tried is iPad or iPhone app to see if it’s application related or server related. This is Plex server on WD NAS and I know it never happened with Plex server on my Synology.
I will try the apps and respond later.
Update : Tried IOS Plex app while waiting for Uber… no issues on IOS.
I have server logs downloaded immediately after it happened, but I can not get Apple TV logs…
Update - Rebooted Apple TV and the log URL worked. logging.zip (1.2 MB)
