I have multiple Apple TVs that up until yesterday were working fine. Today I have gone to finish watching a film that was working yesterday and when playing the film from the library it opens to a black screen with a spinning wheel. After a few minutes it starts to play but keeps on pausing. I have tried on 4 of my Apple TVs and it is the same on all of them.
I have also tested on my Android phone using the Plex App. It also does the same thing as the Apple TVs.
The Plex media server is installed on my QNAP, I have checked and there is no high CPU/Memory/GPU usage and network seems to be fine.
Everything is hard wired and no changes to my network have been made. I can access and play the files correctly from different laptops and computers using app.plex.tv
Thanks for the reply!
On the media server settings I there is no “Advanced” section even when “Show Advanced” button is on. Maybe I am been thick and just not seeing it though.
It is frustrating that the Plex settings do not have a search function so I could just search Cache and the option come up.
Then that is unfortunate for yourself as the ATV new experience app has become very usable. Unless you depend on a few features that are still under development.
I’m dealing with the same issue and it just started happening out of nowhere. I have to close the app between every TV episode, sometimes having to do it twice just to get the content to play. The app store says the app is up to date and the server doesn’t have any pending updates either. I’m not sure why this suddenly seems to have happened. I can’t find the reset cache option either.
