I was having this problem as well as the top shelf not working problem, so I decided to delete & re-install the client. Reload is now working again for me. Top shelf worked once, then broke again.
I just bought an Apple TV 4K and I couldn’t figure out why none of the TV shows or movies I added were showing up. If I click the refresh library button in the top right corner, that will scan everything and add the missing content. Hopefully this will be fixed soon so it will do it automatically.
If it’s not scanning the library that’s a different problem, and entirely server related.
I found if I had my server on one system and files stored across the network, it didn’t automatically detect new content. If I had my files stored on the same system that is running Plex Server, it detects every update and automatically scans / adds things to the library.
You may just have to set it to do scans every hour. But if it’s the problem as it sounds to me, it’s best taken to the Plex Server subforums.
