On the old Plex app, there was a feature to scroll all the way up to the top right and there was a refresh button to refresh the server for new media added. On the beta app, I see no such button. The only buttons I see are “Edit Home Screen” and “Restore Defaults.”
The goal is to actually have the app not need a reload button; the devs are working on it.
I appreciate that they are working on it and would love to have a time that it isn’t needed, but at this point I believe it is still a necessary feature and to have it removed from the release versions is a bad move. I suggest they add the button back while working to resolve the issue on the back end and then when the issues are fully resolved remove the button. I personally believe this would provide the best option for your users and not ruin the overall experience while working on the fix.

Are you seeing this issue anywhere other than the Library screens?
90% of the time I’m only on unwatched tv shows so that is mainly the only time I’m noticing any issues.

By the time I go to the other pages (e.g. go to Movies, and select A to Z), it refreshes, but when I’m on the home page, it will not refresh until I quit the app and open it again. I agree with @arrivet though and think that the refresh button should be there until the feature is fully implemented.

I too would like to see this returned, even if it’s implemented why not let the user force a refresh.
Mine will automatically refresh, but it can take up to 30 seconds. Just finish an episodes, go to home screen, wait a few seconds, it’ll mark it as watched, wait a bit more and what feels likes ages, it’ll come up with the next episode. Previously it was almost instant and I didn’t need the refresh button.
This doesn’t seem like a “feature” to me, but more of an “issue”.

I would have to agree its very frustrating! I have a lot of automation and this really slows me down, I know first world problems but it is what it is…
This should mostly be working by now. Things should be appearing on your screen automatically as added to your library.
If this is not happening then start a new thread in the Apple TV section of the forms so we can start taking a look at it.
Be sure to post your Plex media server version number in your Plex Apple TV app version number.
