I’ve been having this issue for years across multiple AppleTVs and it seems to be getting worse.
When playing content pressing the back button would exit the app and go to the AppleTV Home Screen. I’d go back in and it’d be at the same spot in the video. Going back again would exit app again, and repeat. Usually this would go on a few times and it’d eventually recognize the back button to go back within the Plex app rather then exiting it.
Anyone else have this issue, and is there a fix for it?
Haven’t seen that one yet.
Isn’t the Siri Remote supposed to go back to the home screen if you’re e.g. long-pressing the back button? Doing a regular single-click has always been working for me (just retested this on my Apple TV).
What model of Apple TV are you using / which version of tvOS is installed?
This happens on the latest 4K Apple TV with the new Siri remote. So when I say the “back” button it’s sometimes also referenced as the menu button. It looks like a mathematical “less then” symbol. There’s a separate button (home button, looks like a TV) that you press to go home. Long pressing the home button also brings up the side menu.
I’ll test later today if a long press of the back button in another app takes you home, but I don’t believe that to be the case.
