Same issue. Seems pretty widespread
This is the same problem Iām having. Plex automatically goes to the next episode and there is no audio. If I exit and then reopen the episode the audio returns.
Any chance there is a fix coming soon?

Iāve been posting in https://forums.plex.tv/t/no-sound-when-autoplaying-next-tv-episode regarding this issue and was curious if you had any updates. I was able to provide logs of it happening and samples of the episodes. Any updates from the dev team on the issue / where a fix is at?
Mine is still the same, 95% a time time, no sound when going to the next ep.
Same problem here. Every time we let the TV show auto play the video starts but yet no audio. Very frustrating!!
Been having same issue of no audio after an episode for about a month now. Its not EVERY episode though, its almost like it stickies part of the audio codec, and tries to play the wrong thing?
Iāve found if you swipe down, and change the quality settings, it immediately starts playing. I wish I had found this prior to me rebuilding my entire plex server as I though it was a Server side issueā¦
I can confirm, as others have suggested, that changing the settings to use the āold playerā has seemed to āfixā the problem for me. Iāll keep it that way until Plex says they have fixed the problem with the new player.

@chfredrickson you have been our only hope, a shining light concerning this problem. Please give us a status update, even if it is to say the Plex team is continuing to study this bug. There are now multiple threads on this issue. Please, some helpful feedback.
Just popping in to share that we have 2 new Apple TVās that are we are experiencing this on regularly, hoping such a widespread issue will be fixed in short order.

Any updates on this issue? It seems pretty widespread. None of the recent betas address it. I had the audio stop working in the middle of a movie this evening. 25 minutes in. Thanks!
Please fix this issue, itās very annoying. I use plex to keep the cats entertained with nature videos and the TV is constantly going silent b/c of this bug.
Can we skip the autoplay screen somehow?
BTW this not only happens with the āup nextā screen. It also happens in playlists

This has started happening to me too. Iāll start playing an episode, and when it autoplays another episode, itāll be silent until I leave the episode and then play it again, at which point everything works just fine.
Iāve been having the same issues. I think itās a problem with the new Plex player in the app. When I switch back to the old player (Settings > Advanced > Use Old Video Player) it works, doesnāt lose sound when advancing to the next episode.
