I just bought a life time plex pass and I am trying to set up a kid account on my plex server. I restricted it to pg and less. I have certain content I want to allow that is not in the restricted approved range. I was told I could allow things with a tag like kiddo or something and say items with this tag are allowed to view by kid account but I can’t seem to find out how. All the articles I have found I don’t have the options they say I should have.
I have spent over an hour googling this and searching this forum. On emby I could go in an just set a movie to approved and I was good. I have looked at the below article but I dont have a restrictions option on my server config page
If you use one of the ‘Restriction Profiles’ (top item), then the more detailed methods of restricting access are disabled.
If you set the profiles to ‘None’, you get access to the “sharing labels” stuff.
However, if you do that you’ll have to disable access to the Video-On-Demand library for your managed users, because without a restriction profile, they’ll be able to access the full catalog. https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources
If you want to give both (restricted) access to the VOD library and allow access to some choice items from your own library to the kids, you’ll have to edit those items and overwrite the age rating with a different one.
