I hope the Plex team will chime in on this. I just need to know one way or the other if this is in the works. I use Plex Home and thus don’t use my “admin” account for any actually media playing at home. I only use Plex home accounts and as it stands I can’t take advantage of the LiveTV features since they are only usable on the Plex.tv account.
Is this something we can expect change in the near future? If not I will need to start thinking about creating a second Plex server strictly for LiveTV/DVR.
They won’t chime in.
They do not discuss road-maps or timelines.
I am not “in the know” but I think that it will come eventually. Remember this is still very new, lots of things to fix/develop (like other platforms) before that - or maybe not and it will come out soon.

If you use a silicondust tuner, use this plex channel for your home users for live TV for the time being. This channel will run on the same plex server install as the new plex DVR:

Boooya Live tv for your home users, web client and roku if you have one!
I’ve been using that Channel for years now. What I’m trying to do is take advantage of the new time shifting feature. Also, a better UI of what’s currently on would be nice.
Other than a quick test, I’ve really not been able to use LiveTV. Our admin account is for just that – administration. All content consumption is done with other users accounts.
LiveTV is useless for us without the ability to share with other household accounts.
