Server Version#: 4.84.1
I run PMS on a dedicated Win10 laptop & access it via a Win10 desktop. Both have wired connections to my router.
Every time I start Plex on my desktop (https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/) I am asked to select my streaming services. I have done this & after Plex starts I can verify my streaming selections in “Discover: Manage Streaming Services”.
Why won’t PMS remember my selections?
Which browser and version are you using?
Do you have any ad/cookie blockers running in your browser, or is your browser set to reject/clear cookies when closed? If so, make sure plex.tv is whitelisted.
FYI, take a look at the desktop app, Plex for Windows/Mac/Linux (download, docs). It is a more capable client than Plex Web, direct playing most video/audio/subtitle formats.
Thanks for the rapid response. My browser is Vivaldi which is Chromium based. I do have all Cookies deleted on exit. I’ll try Whitelisting plex.tv.
I don’t play anything on my desktop only on TVs & mobile devices. PC is only used to manage my Plex libraries.
I tried Whitelisting plex cookies but no luck. I still get the select streaming services on start.
- Started browser &the Plex “app.plex.tv”
- Got the select streaming services. Signed in to Plex. Whitelisted all cookies from *.plex.tv.
- Exited Plex & browser.
- Started browser & checked cookies. “.app.plex.tv” & “plex.tv” were still there.
- Started Plex “app.plex.tv”. Still got the select streaming services.
It appears that the Plex Cookies are NOT deleted but that doesn’t change the select streaming services on start.
Always use the hosted web app. You seem to be now using the local web app, which is slightly older.
Try a regular browser. Vivaldi is among those browsers which are made to shoot web apps in the foot. This might be good for the privacy minded user. But if you want to use an app that’s running inside the browser (like Plex Web), you better use a browser which doesn’t have a lot of expected functionality altered or disabled.
