Before, any anamorphic 4:3 video with a 5.1 soundtrack would not be displayed correctly. After the last update, I read this was fixed, and was mainly due to a workout around discovered, not a fix on Sony’s part (I could be wrong).
Those videos were, in fact, fixed, but I noticed tonight I was having an issue with a different set of anamorphic 4:3 videos. These were generally encoded the same way, but with 2.0 audio and my examples are all “extras” I’d encoded from DVDs and Blu-rays.
Several videos stretch the aspect ratio, and I just played one that shrinks it!
