I have installed Plex app from Samsung Smart HUB but I couldn’t find an option select Video > Smart Stretch Vertically 16:9 ( which doesn’t crop sides doesn’t zoom but stretch for whole screen ) like all other media players (MX,POT,VLC,KODI,CYBERLINK,MPC,VLC) Smart Stretch , I know some of you will differ but almost 80% of people like smart stretch without cutoff sides . and those who are saying It must be the TV to change aspect ratio , I would give an example of Samsung TV which greyed out picture size settings on all APPS (like Netflix,Amazon,Plex) Picture Settings , it just doesn’t work on App when it opened either you have Samsung Latest model.
Those who want to see black bar with exact ratio then the floor is already yours but what about for other 80% of people ? So Plex should consider this option to add on all platforms . Let the users decide what they want to see.
Totally agree, this is one of the most annoying things to my with the Samsung Plex app, I have a lot of old 4:3 aspect ratio stuff and can’t believe plex does not offer the option to zoom / pan / scan, like it does on say the andriod / pc app ,and not even allow you to use the custom picture setting in the samsung tv like the inbuilt DLNA samsung app does. This has been the main reason I have never gone for a premium subscription, as Plex doesn’t seem to fix the “little” issues first before just adding new features…
