Using preview of the samsung plex app.
Aspect ratio on live tv viewing is stuck in 4:3 letterbox
Using the app of LG tv or Apple TV is perfect
Does this happen for all live tv channels? What aspect ratio or resolution should they be playing at? Some logs would help (make sure to enable Log to Server in settings)
Yes all channels. Playing a saved movie for example is fine. Just viewing live tv. Format should be wide screen same as normal tv.
I also have a time issue where the Plex app has an incorrect time. When this happens I can’t watch any live tv.
Overall the plex app for my brand new Samsung smart tv is next to useless at present.
I’m using the Plex app on the Apple TV instead.
Just a heads up the app for the Samsung needs some work and testing before it’s useable.
If these issues have not been previously logged I can help by uploading some logs. Let me know if these are known issues or new.

Any update on the TV playback ratio issue. I notice the plex app letterboxes the video when it thinks its 480 resolution, 1080 feeds show proper wide screen. On the Apple TV plex version a video will play back in the original format works fine and also has a lot of other options to convert the video feed.
Just started looking at this. The logs don’t have enough info in them for me to see what the player is doing. Can you turn on Log to Media Server in the app, and then generate the logs for me again?
