ASUS Tinkerboard Hardware Transcoding

Anyone tried to run a Plex Server on ASUS Tinkerboard? How is the transcoding performance? Currently I am using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ which can not encode any stream. Will upgrading to a tinkerboard (I have one lying around) improve the performance of transcoding??

Have you tried OpenELEC or RasPlex for the RPi?

Early this year I tried to install on a Tinkerboard, but couldn’t get it to compile and just gave up. The QT drivers were a pain and MESA isn’t as mature.

@enduser Rasplex has been dead for years. Please do not recommend it anymore. It’s a dead end. And so is OpenELEC. Please only consider LibreELEC

@AnindyaSanyal The only ARM platforms with hardware transcoding in Plex are the Nvidia Shield and macOS. There is no hardware transcoding in Plex available for Linux running on ARM. The transcoding performance of your Tinkerboard won’t differ much from your Pi.
