Asustor Nimbus 4 won't play avi files

Hi,

I’ve just stumbled across the fact that my Nimbustor won’t play avi files. From low quality up to 1080p all I get is a blocky picture but the sound plays perfectly. The server is fine with any other type of file (even up to 4k stuff). I even optimized a file and it played back the exact same way.

It seems reverting back to 1.18.0.1944 version fixes this.

I’ve just updated to the latest version (1.19.1.2645-ccb6eb67e) and all I’m seeing is blocky images on my screen. I’m not even getting audio with this version now. Is there anything anyone can recommend? I’d like to stay current but for now it looks like I’m going to be stuck on version 1.18.0.1944. Someone in this thread came up with the issue AS5304T HW Tanscoding is not working properly but it doesn’t look like it has been fixed by the plex people yet.

I have similar behavior, but with mkv files at a certain rate. I just purchased the SAN so I don’t have the old files. Where did you get the older installation file from?
