Asustor not playing media but I can see server remotely

Server Version#:1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5
Player Version#: 8.11.0.22186 (a1b8a7fb) - My Android Note 10

I was able to finally figure out the remote access issue with my new modem/router. But now I’m having a second issue on my Asustor AS1002Tv2 PLEX Server.

I’ve verified the following:

  • NAS IP set statically
  • Port Forwarding set on Motorola MG7700 modem (not using xfinity’s modem).
  • Verified UPnP is enabled on router.
  • PLEX Remote Access has a Green check mark.
  • Canyouseeme.org verifies that the PLEX manual port is open on my External IP.
  • I’m able to access my media server via my Android Note 10. I can see the playlists and all the titles to everything. I did verify that I wasn’t on Wifi.

ISSUE: When I go to play any title, on any playlist using a “remote connection”. It says… “Error Unable to play media”. I can also verify that this error is being seen at another house. On a TV with the PLEX app.

What do I have to do to get the files to play on my devices remotely? Asustor says the media server on the NAS is updated.

Bumping because I would like my son to be able to watch his Christmas movies Remotely from Dallas tomorrow.

I know it’s the holidays but I’m hoping someone can answer this soon.
