ATV Not working

I have read all the posts and they all say the same thing as what i'm about to say - sorry....

Unfortunately. " Plex isn't working on my ATV3 after update"

I have Windows 8,

Python - 2.7.5

I have tried the following -

  1. Have created absolute in settings
  2. Uninstalled and reinstalled - PMS - 9.8.6.175-88ffbb2
  3. Recreated the Certificate (5 times)
  4. Tried renaming trailers.der to trailers.cer
  5. Change from Autodetect to set at 192.168.1.150
  6. Uninstalled Python - reinstalled
  7. Tried moving trailers.pem to root - c:\

And now i'm stuck - don't know how to proceed.

Log -

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Andrew.

You say you have created the certificate file 5 times. Have you made sure you have deleted the unused certificates and that the installed .cer file and the trailers.pem that you are using match up to each other (ie, they were created at the same time)?

  1. Tried moving trailers.pem to root - c:\

This needs to go onto plexconnet/assets/certificates

Did you update the setting to " certfile = C: railers.pem "?
Did you update the DNS setting on your aTV to the device where PlexConnect is running?
Did you power off/on your aTV?

If you read the thread pinned at the top. read before posting, you would see that is says to put logging to high and to attach the log file not just the output of the command window.

Looking at the command window I can see that there have been forwarded DNS requests but no requests have been intercepted?

Have you opened a browser and gone to https://192.168.1.150:443 to see that plexconnect can see te certificate ok?

@teatowl as long as the path in settings.cfg matches the location of the trailers.pem file it does not matter where on the disk it is.

Thank you all for responding.

Thank you thank you thank you.

I got it working after I uninstalled all the certificates.

P.s where do I donate?

Working on it...

My ATV got updated yesterday by a family member.. so i had to reconfigure to work with new software.  I have plexconnect running now, when i launch it, it don't get any error messages, it starts fine and says it serving application.js

however, when trying to connect from ATV i get the error that trailer cannot connect.

The cert file is in the write path.. path in settings.cfg is correct. the cert is installed on ATV ,i can see it when i go into profiles on ATV. i've updated python to latest 3.3.  i've updated plexconnect using git.

am i supposed to do something with the trailers.key file.. I used the .pem and .cer but didn't see any mention in instructions for using the .key file

any ideas.

Well Python 3.x is not supported.

Please install the right version and start a new thread of your own with the info requested in the sticky if you still have issues after that.
