I'm running Plex Media Server 0.9.8.17 on my PC (Intel i5) and PlexConnect/Media library on my NAS (HP MediaSmart 490). Everything seems fine initially but I have this issue when played some movies.
When I play 1080p mp4 movie, I need to turn on "force transcode" to display subtitle because otherwise apple tv would native play it and won't allow me to choose subtitle.
After turn on "force transcode", ATV starts to restart every a couple of minutes. I'm not sure if restart is the correct word - basically screen turns black and ATV white light starts to flash. After several seconds, ATV returns to main screen (not in plex connect anymore).
I tried different combinations of settings and found out i need to change transcode quality to 720p instead of 1080p to avoid this issue.
How should I debug this and see where went wrong?
Another question: is intel E5400 (2.7G Dual Core) + 2GB memory good enough for PMS? I want to move PMS to my NAS but not sure if it is powerful enough
