Audio continues playing for a few seconds when video is paused

Server Version#: 1.25.0.5246
Player Version#: 7.25

When watching shows (Doesn’t matter what show, all are max 1080p), when I pause the episode I am watching, the video pauses instantly but the audio continues to play for a few seconds.

When I unpause the episode, the video starts playing immediately but the audio is delayed by a few seconds.

This is on the ATV 4K 2021 model, my ATV has the default audio speakers set to 2 Homepod minis in stereo mode, but i’ve had it set up like that since the release of tvOS 15 back in September, and this particular issue is only new as of November some time.

This particular issue is not present on any other streaming app I use on the ATV (Netflix, Stan – Aussie streaming service, Disney+, Paramount+, Apple TV+, etc…), it’s only Plex experiencing the issue.

So I have 2 ATV 4K’s, a 2017 model and a 2021 model.

The 2017 model is hooked up to a Hitachi 4K TV, but because of an annoying thing that happens at the top of the TV when I have frame rate matching turned on (A small section at the top the video gets slightly out of sync with the rest of the video – But only when watching Disney+ for some reason), I have to have frame rate matching turned off.

On that TV, there is no audio delay at all, and it is using the new player.

On the 2021 model connected to my Samsung TV with frame rate matching and dynamic rate matching both turned on, using the new player, the audio issue happens.

If I switch back to the old player, the audio issue is all but gone.

Same problem here.

I have two standard HomePods connected as stereo pair to Apple TV 4K.
Latest tvOS, HomePod OS and Plex App is installed but still having this issue.

The only workaround I noticed is switching to the old player in the settings.

To all plex developers:
Please fix this issue! It‘s really annoying.
