Audio crackling on windows 10

Server Version#: 4.100.1
Player Version#: 1.34.1

Good morning, I have a problem with my Plex on Windows 10: For certain types of files (.mkv/hevc) the audio track crackles, this happens on my pc both in plex-web and on plex-htpc but if I play the same files on my fire TV everything is fine.

Also, if I open the files directly with VLC or the default Windows app, the audio is perfectly fine.

The audio codec is: OPUS 2.0

What can I do to solve this problem?

Please provide a sample file which reproduces the issue.

But before doing that, check your sound interface settings in Windows. Particularly if there are any additional processing options activated or not.

I checked and no, I don’t have any enchantments on.

sample-001.zip (19.1 MB)

I could reproduce the issue.
Interestingly, the issue is also present in MPC-HC (which uses a software stack which is quite similar to Plex’s).
But it is also present in VLC.
But if I extract the audio tracks from the container and play them as pure audio, I don’t hear any distortion.

I will file a bug report.

So far it looks like an issue with the lavformat software library, which is used in all of the above apps, including Plex.

OK, thank you for keeping me informed.
