A few weeks ago, I suddenly found I had a problem playing videos with EAC3 audio.
After much trial and error with settings, I found that the Plex Desktop setting for Audio Device: was defaulting to Auto each day. Resulting in no audio playback. I set the device to QCQ90 (HD Audio Driver for Display Audio) and playback is then fine. But the next day it’s changed back to Auto. Although playback on the PlexWeb app is unaffected, and plays fine whenever.
My PC, which runs both the Plex server and player, is running 24/7, but my TV and soundbar are turned off each night. This seems to be what is triggering the default to Auto.
It’s annoying, having to change the player settings each day. If anyone can suggest a solution, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks.
