Plex! Please Add Setting to Disable Automatic Audio Device Detection!

Running all latest, Plex, Windows 10 updates, Audio drivers etc.

Running Plex player on a Windows 10 PC with Nvidia video card and using Nvidia audio connected to a Denon AVR (new series) via HDMI.

Plex player DOES NOT detect the Denon AVR when it starts up and so player audio settings default to basic audio without DD etc. passthrough. Therefore only stereo is output from Plex.

This happens even if I make sure the Denon is powered up first, then the PC, then Plex player or actually any combination of startup order. No matter, Plex defaults to basic player audio settings.

I have to go into config, player, audio and manually set the device to Denon AVR EVERY TIME I use Plex player.

I understand Plex ‘detects’ the audio device at start up and is supposed to ‘find’ the Denon, but it doesn’t. I can’t be the only one with this problem because my setup is very generic.

PLEASE Plex, add a checkbox in the player audio settings to disable automatic detection of audio device. This way, some users can manually configure and keep that configuration no matter what Plex ‘detects’. This is important for anyone where auto detect isn’t working properly. Automation is nice, but not when it doesn’t work in a given situation.

Thank you.
