I am running into a problem where my audio sync gets messed up while playing back TV shows I DVRed with com skip enabled. This happens in videos where com skip occurred just after the skipped commercials. If i completely stop playback not just pause and then resume the audio is fine.
I also experience this issue. Programs lose audio sync just after a spot where a commercial was removed. The only way to restore it is to exit the playback and start it again at the last played location.
Plex Server running on QNAP TS-451+
Playback on Apple TV 4K
I was seeing that for a long time before the COMSKIP feature existed, particularly with HD video.
It seems to have largely cleared up and I never really knew exactly what happened, but it my old thread about it there were suggestions about direct-play vs transcoding and perhaps my server/player couldn’t keep up. Maybe it was some server tweak in a later version…not sure.
Perhaps I’ll never know…it hasn’t happened in a while, but I use COMSKIP now without synch issues from both cable and OTA recordings through my Silicon Dust tuners.
I am having the same issue, but for me it seems to happen much more frequently on low bitrate recordings. It takes about as much time to stop and restart playback to re-sync the audio as it does to just watch the commercials.
I face the same issue intermittently - but not just with ComSkip - it happens randomly in recordings. I just started to review all recordings and delete those which got out of step, assuming that it was the recorded file which had been corrupted somehow (which is a real pain if you are trying to record an entire series of a show for future viewing!).

That is what I was seeing as well. It seemed random and certainly unrelated to ComSkip although of course that’s not to say that ComSkip coudn’t also be causing an issue for some.
They released a new version 1.11.1.4730 late on 1/24/18. I downloaded this to my Synology NAS DS916+, ran 3 shows on my Silicon Dust HDHomeRun Prime 3 tuner setup through Plex DVR, each 1hr and all 3 at same time, and with the comskip turned OFF, and no audio/video skipping/repeating like before. It’s just one test I’ve done but seems maybe this latest update may have addressed the issue. We’ll see going forward.
