Audio goes out of sync when fast forwarding

Hello everyone,

I have an issue where every time I skip and intro, fast forward, or skip to the next scene, the audio will become off with the video. This happens with almost all media I am testing with. Everything I play is direct playing.

I have a 920+ synology on a wired gigabit network going to a Nvidia Shield 2019. This has been happening for months now and I can’t find a resolution.

Here is what I have tried;

  • Full reinstall of Plex app on Shield
  • Checked all settings in in plex. (I rarely change anything and this stared before I went in and started messing with settings)
  • Bought another 2019 Shield and have the same issues.
  • Remote users streaming do not have this problem using Nvidia Shields, Roku’s, and Fire Sticks

I’m at a loss on what I can do to fix this. I’ve also tested with Plex on Kodi, Emby, VLC, and none of them have the same issues as the Plex app itself.

I can attach logs after work and make the issue happen if that is useful. I’ve honestly switched to Emby for the time being due to this so I don’t watch much, if any, on plex anymore.

Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. I’m not a fan of Emby’s interface and I hate having to open Plex from within Kodi to resolve the issue.

Happens to me. You just have to press rewind once and it’ll sync the audio

Thanks for the tip. Still this shouldn’t be happening in the first place as it never was an issue before. I wish I knew the date of when this started happening.

It’s been years for me with some media. I do think it started happening a bit more often lately.
