Audio pass-thru for new Plex for Windows

Hi,

I recently installed new version of Plex Server and Plex for Windows player and so far all works good: streaming to my devices (tablet, phone and tv) and playability/stream speed is greatly improved.

One thing I got stuck is how to change the audio to pass-though for all my multi-channel media sources. On the smart TV, pass-through works flawlessly to the digital receiver but from my PC, audio seem to be in PCM format only as the receiver does not receive any AC3/DTS. Using Windows native player or VLC, pass-through works, so there is nothing wrong with the DAC and connection.

The computer/server is in a different room (my main device) and has a seperate external DAC which is connected to another digital receiver/amplifier. I mostly watch with headphones but on occasions ditch the headphones a little and would be nice to have the full effect. The smart TV is used 99% of the time by other family members so in those cases, it is not an option.

I could easily switch between pass-through and PCM on Plex Media Player by switching between TV and Destop mode, but the new player, this is out. So, if there is a way, please help.

Thanks,

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058-e67a4e892
Player Version#: 1.4.1.940-574c2fa7

PfW doesn’t have pass-through.
Go back to Plex Media Player

Too bad though.

Thanks,
