Simple question. The windows store app will work with 5.1 audio but the same files in the new app will only play stereo. Is this a known issue or is there a setting I’m missing?
Plex for Windows doesn’t support pass-through of audio. If you have configured the Windows HDMI audio output to 5.1 channels, it will however decode any surround sound and send 5.1 PCM data to your screen/AVR. (not possible with SP/DIF or TOSlink)
If you absolutely need pass-through, use Plex Media Player instead
Thanks for the reply. Not what i wanted to hear. Just my personal preference but sound is over 50% of the movie/TV experience. So from my view point the new app is a step backwards from even the windows store app. That app will pass-through on SP/DIF TOSlink. Ill try the media player but I have never used it. I hope this feature can be added in the future. I know its impossible to please all. I appreciate the hard work put into this. Please consider improving the sound quality. Thanks
Media player worked for me. Thanks. Seems media player should be the standard???
Took a minute for me to find the settings. There may be a different place to find them but i found it in TV mode the picture of myself as the user.
