OpenPHT has a bunch of audio options that PHT did not have. One of them must be wrong because audio sync seems to drift in and out. The tv refresh rate syncs to the content right now. Any ideas?
tell us some details about your setup? what version of openpht? what OS/version ? are you using it with a AMP? HDMI audio or something else? does it happen on all types of media?
edit, im told if you have sync to refresh enabled AND passthrough audio also on, it may cause this issue. need to choose 1 or the other.

I assume you mean “sync playback to display”…what does that do? i thought that was the same as “adjust display refresh rate” which apparently it is not. I can’t find any explanation of the “Fixed/Optimized/Best Match” audio options either.

SYNC PLAYBACK TO DISPLAY alters the frame rate of the media being played to match the refresh rate of the display.
ADJUST DISPLAY REFRESH RATE TO MATCH VIDEO requests the display change it’s refresh rate to match the frame rate of the media.
The first option adds or removes frames from the video stream. When you have passthrough audio enabled, the audio stream is not processed, but passed directly onto to the receiver. This can cause audio drift because frames rates affect the timing of the video. So the video changes but the audio stays the same.
I’m also having some issues with this.
“Adjust display refresh rate” on start/stop.
“Sync playback to display” tick.
Not enabled passthrough.
Any ideas why it is out of sync most of the time?
on your optical out speaker system or your other htpc?
cant fix it by setting the delay?
I’m having audio sync issues too. Tried everything, but the only cure is setting -100 mls delay. Even though my AVR supports almost everything, I’m not using passtrough, so I can switch between headphones digital and HDMI audio outputs on my Mac mini.

This is on the HTPC you helped me with. The one with optical out.
I have been forced to put a permanent delay (275 ms) that sometimes works roughly, but sometimes the sync drifts away and doesn’t work at all
what happens if you Dont enable these?
“Adjust display refresh rate” on start/stop.
“Sync playback to display” tick.
It doesn’t happen with all movies, as long as I have the delay set to 275ms, and unfortunately I haven’t got the movies with major problems left. Tried with some other tonight, and seems to work good if I don’t enable those settings.
Any ideas?
